2023 Symposium for the Advancement of Catholic Health Care

The 2023 Symposium for the Advancement of Catholic Health Care is titled "Health Care Policy Through the Lens of Catholic Teaching".  Occurring in conjunction with the launch of the CHCLA Public Policy & Advocacy Institute, this Symposium will focus on how we, as Catholics, should view public policy in light of Catholic teaching.  We are pleased to have an impressive list of speakers to speak on various areas of Catholic health care policy, including Dean Marie Nolan with Catholic University of America, David Schindler with the John Paul II Institute, Lucia Silecchia with CUA Columbus School of Law, Grace-Marie Turner with the Galen Institute, Bob Moffit with Heritage Foundation, and more.  

The CHCLA Symposium for the Advancement of Catholic Health Care is a three-year initiative to explore the foundations of the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.  The Symposium will approach Catholic health care from all angles, tackling the historical, theological, philosophical, scientific, and practical applications of Christ’s teachings and works, to all facets and arenas impacting Catholic health care.  From the historical to the present, from bioethics to environment and art in health care facilities, this Symposium will rely upon experts in the fields of medicine, law, philosophy, theology, administration, business, advocacy, policy, architecture, among others, to lay a foundation that looks not just to the past and the present, but to identify principles and guidelines to direct the path of Catholic health care into the future.
